Thursday 21st March 2019
Learn how to make a beautiful curtain and sew like a pro!
Through her business, Portico Interiors, Chrissie Cardno has been involved in interiors and making soft furnishings for clients in Surrey and London for over 25 years.
In the relaxed and friendly setting of The Summerhouse you will make a bespoke, hand sewn lined and interlined sample curtain with a pencil pleat heading. This one day workshop aims to provide you with the skills and confidence to tackle your own projects at home and save money. The workshop is ideal for beginners or for those with some experience, so get creative and have a go! There are three places available to ensure that everyone gets individual attention.
What we will cover:
How to take measurements
Estimate fabric quantities
Calculate pattern repeats
How to pattern match and join
How to cut out a curtain panel
How to line and interline
How to assemble your sample
All materials are included and a sewing machine will be available for your use. All you need to bring is yourself and plenty of enthusiasm!
The workshop commences promptly at 10.00 and will finish at 3.15pm with a short break for lunch (not provided).
If you have enjoyed your experience and want to learn more, there will be a follow-on workshop to look at other types of curtains headings. Ask on the day.
