Bringing the outdoors in: home décor inspired by nature

If you’re looking to refresh your home in 2025, greenery can add life to any interior space, and the more exotic it is the better. (Bamboo is one example of something that could be the perfect addition to your home, plus it’s airy and informal, letting light through its leaves.)

So it’s no wonder that more of us are taking the concept of ‘bringing the outdoors in’ seriously. And designers are predicting the trend for interiors inspired by nature will continue throughout 2025.

But it’s all about more than just having a few pot plants on the kitchen windowsill. Biophilic design means organic materials and indoor plants become the focus. The aim is to encourage mental wellbeing and strengthen our connection with nature via textures, plants and materials.

Plants, after all, invariably enhance a room’s visual appeal, plus they can improve air quality. Go for ones with a strong shape and a distinctive structure.

Most of us also want a home which is comfortable as well as visually appealing. Continue the natural theme with earthy, bold colour palettes teamed up with multi-functional spaces.

At the same time, in 2025 high-end design won’t just be about style; it’ll be about making choices and decisions that are environmentally aware. And of course, there’s no reason why luxury and sustainability can’t go hand in hand. So you don’t have to limit your home to a minimalist or rustic look or compromise on sophistication.

Expect to see plenty of reclaimed, composite and recycled materials plus sustainable fabrics, such as organic cotton, linen and bamboo, alongside gorgeously handcrafted and artisanal pieces this year. Meanwhile, for your colour palette think warm neutrals like ivory and brown, and organic, earthy or moody hues including terracotta and olive or forest green. Soft furnishings and wall art can add some subtle colour. Organic textures such as wool also enhance the look and feel of a space.

Other ideas to bear in mind include using organic patterns and shapes where you can, inspired by nature, maximising natural light and optimising the flow between the interior and exterior worlds. You can do this, for example with sliding doors or by maintaining a good airflow.

Nature-themed décor from The Packhouse

At The Packhouse, we offer a distinctive shopping experience with dozens of local independent traders. We’re at Runfold, near Farnham, in the Surrey Hills, so we’re pretty close to a decent slice of the natural world ourselves. And our base is a centuries-old former hop kiln, a listed building, so that in itself is a nifty piece of recycling!

We’re all for sustainability, encouraging our customers to bring their own shopping bags and share cars when they visit us. Independent traders also typically have a smaller carbon footprint than big retailers.

What’s more, we love vintage items, repurposing and upcycling. And, of course, buy vintage and you won’t be supporting modern manufacturing processes which could involve harmful chemicals. So browse our scores of stores for a brilliant buy for your home inspired by nature. We sell everything from jewellery to antique furniture and more.

The Packhouse is open daily – browse our website and give us a call ahead of your visit if you have any queries. Finally, once you’re here, combine your bargain-hunting with a break at our on-site eatery, The Palm House.

it becomes a sanctuary. That kind of design philosophy resonates because it connects people to something bigger than themselves. It’s a reminder that balance and harmony matter, much like the precision you need in Slope game—every choice shapes the flow, and small adjustments can transform the entire experience.

I really like the idea of using natural textures and greenery to make a home feel calmer and more welcoming. On a different note, when I’m relaxing after reading lifestyle articles like this, I usually play Subway Surfers for a quick break, it’s simple, colorful, and honestly pretty fun to unwind with.

After a few seconds, the speed increases to the point that every action feels life-or-death, despite the fact that all you are controlling is a rolling ball traveling down an endless neon slope. The game became well-known in online gaming groups thanks to the "just one more try" tactic.
